SEAT's first SUV has had a facelift for 2020. The SEAT Ateca has been updated with some interior and exterior revisions made to help keep the SUV attractive and competitive for the SUV market. Notable changes for the new SEAT Ateca, which is on sale from July 2020, include mechanical, technology and design tweaks to help keep it fresh and up to date. The SEAT Ateca comes in the SE, SE Technology, FR, FR Sports Trip and the new Xperience mode.

From the new leather steering wheel, an 8 point automatics adjustable driver's seat and a choice of interior design; either, microsuede or fabric. The SEAT Ateca boasts confidence in its abilities that shows through its attention to detail and driver satisfaction. Delve more in-depth, and you will find a pair of new USB-C ports, multi-colour ambient lighting along with a voice recognition system. An 8.25-inch infotainment system comes as standard – although SE Technology models and above are fitted with a larger 9.2-inch central screen.
As with the first-gen model, the SEAT Ateca is fully loaded with an impressive range of security features, making it an ideal family SUV. Using the previous system as a base, the new models feature front assist, side assist, exit assist and a pre-crash assist system. The pre-crash assist system will pretension the car's seat belts raise the car's windows and also close the sunroof in case of an imminent crash being detected.
Add in an impressive predictive adaptive cruise control system, and you can be confident that the new look Ateca is designed with safety in mind. Using GPS information and data from the car's traffic sign recognition camera, the Ateca automatically adjusts the SUV's speed based on factors such as road layout, speed limit and the prevailing traffic conditions.
The SEAT Ateca comes in four petrol and two diesel engines. The petrol engines feature a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit. Available in either 108bhp or 113bhp, depending on the model. If you want more power, you can opt for the 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. Choosing a diesel engine gives you a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit – in 113bhp or 148bhp. Available in six-speed manual gearboxes or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic options.
